My D was accepted into CS. She did not apply for the Honors program. We too are hoping the Merit Award notification is prior to March, which the website seems to imply because she falls in the guaranteed half scholarship up to a full scholarship bracket which is a huge swing.
I was accepted last night!
In state
Major: Strategic Communication
ACT: 33 (34 superscore)
GPA: 4.28 W 3.8 UW
School does not rank
4 AP tests taken (2 4’s, 2 5’s), will take four more this year
ECs: Theatre, choir, school newspaper (business manager), Girl Up (PR officer), mock trial, Spanish Club, Spanish NHS
I was also accepted to the University Honors Program
My OOS daughter was accepted EA and into the honors program. She did not even apply to the Scholars program - she ran out of time because of a lost email and had to throw together an honors app in just a few hours. I guess she should have tried, at least…
GPA 4.2 weighted, 3.78 unweighted, AP/honors/CHS courses
ACT 34
SAT 1420
NHS President
musician, dancer, tons and tons of extracurriculars and leadership positions, typical over-extended honors kid
Great - possibly fantastic recommendations, mitigating circumstances with grades this year (but still pretty high grades)
How hard is it to get into the Scholars program? Now that she has applied and gotten into the school does anyone have any idea if it is too late to get into the Scholars program?
We were hoping for one of the great scholarship packages but given other comments I doubt it will come close to being affordable for an OOS kid. I hope everyone is right about hearing from financial aid soon…
My daughter was accepted last night via portal and was also accepted into the Honors and Academic Scholars programs (law and public policy). Waiting on Presidential Fellows program.
We were surprised when an alert was sent after 9pm PST and she didn’t have to wait until midnight… snail mail should arrive today and I’ve noticed on CC merit letters have been sent separately about a week after notification letters the past few years.
