Michigan Acceptance

Hey everyone, University of Michigan accepted my into their College of Engineering.
Anyways the acceptance letter says that I should send a final transcript in order to see if there is any academic decline.
Anyways Im in the IB diploma program and will be taking my official exams in May. Unfortunately I will only get my scores from the IBO in July. When they say send the transcript (after the 200$ deposit) should I send my IB scores or my transcript of grade throughout the year?

I'd say both.

I see. And what happens if my final semester's grades are low but the actual IBO is pretty high?

Congrat to you. How low compared to what got you into the door? I think most school see some type of "senior slacking" but a drop of over 10 points per class would certainly raise a red flag.

Well in the IB every class is out of 7. I got in with about a 32/42 for all my subjects.
If I get say a 30 will that be ok?

Hey has Michigan ever reconsidered admission? I mean how often does this really happen?

Don't sweat it. You should be fine with a 30/42.

Your predicted grade doesn't include the bonus points? It should be out of 45 but I assume it varies amidst different schools. I'm also an IB diploma candidate but I haven't heard from UM yet! Teachers often say that as long as we GET the diploma in the end, it shouldnt be a problem. It's an unconditional offer unlike what they do in the UK!

God I really hope its unconditional. I kinda screwed up my mock exams (especially math) so I dont think that my final report card will be very good.
My predicted score is 36/45 including bonus points. Im predicted an A on my TOK and A on my Extended Essay.
So yeah, I really hope that UM will accept me on the basis of my final IB score.

Kinda surprised you got in so early with a 32/42. Was that your predicted IB score when you applied? I just heard of a student deferred with a 37/42 and 1900 SAT.

Oh no, my predicted was 33. My SAT was 1870 and my ACT 28.
I think they only accepted me either because of my essays or because I currently live in Kazakhstan....probably one of those experience things.
Plus my ECs werent that bad.

you are from kazakhstan? i know this guy named borat from kazakhstan and he's really really cool..do you know him?

Really, really bad bearcats..............;-)

Hah, Im not actually from Kazakhstan. I was born in Alabama, my parents just work here so I moved with them. But yeah Borat was pretty funny, people here hate me for loving it.

Holy *****! You are from Alabama and grew up iun Kazakhstan? That could get you into Harvard! I mean seriously, how many Alabama natives can claim to have grow up in Kazakhstan?

Ok, hey I got a question for you guys. Is it possible to submit a deposit to more than 1 uni at once? I mean can I submit my deposit to secure my slot in UMich and then once I get my other answers submit my deposit for them as well?

A girl in my class last semester was from Kazakhstan. She is a freshman and the first time she had ever even been to the US was when she came for orientation at UM in the summer.

So if we're already accepted, is there anything else we should be doing? Are there separate scholarship apps?

Hey everyone, I have about 40 points without bonus points, 1940 in my SAT and I think I have good chances for UMich but didn’y get any answer yet… Is it true that decisions come on Fridays? Does it take longer for international students?

On the deposit, yes you can do that, if you don’t mind losing the $
