I want to write about the 3rd topic where it is: Tell us about a book you have read that you found especially challenging, stimulating, or provocative. Explain.

I really don't know how to answer this by directing it towards myself. Am I suppose to give a quick summary of the book and basically analyze the concepts that I like. How would this reveal something about myself? Any hints???

I’m having this same problem…but it doesn’t seem like an answer can help the OP.

A quick summary of the book is clearly necessary, as you can’t expect the adcom to know every book. But, be sure to keep it brief, especially if it is a well-known work.

The essay can reveal more about you by relating key concepts to yourself.

For example:

Looking at Hamlet’s tendency toward inaction showed me the importance of being proactive. I was indecisive once (explain story) but both Hamlet and I learned that what you want won’t just come to you.

Hope I helped :)

Obviously there’s something about the book that made it especially challenging, stimulating, or provocative for you. How did you react to the book while/after reading it?

I talked about a book that had a lot of character suffering, and said how hard it was for me to read because I empathize with people/characters, and tied that in to how I want to be a psychologist.

Just try to tie in your personality traits to whatever made this book the book you chose to write about. I don’t know, hope that helped you some.
