Michigan State EA Decision Notification

Did people who already got accepted apply for EA decision? Or rolling admission? Anybody who applied around EA due date (11/1)got accepted already?

Nice! Congratulations!

Hey did you ever upload anything extra that was listed in that drop down menu?

Rolling admissions is for people who apply after February 1. You wanted to press Early Action. However, from what I have heard, if you applied by early action deadline, you are automatically considered for Early Action.

Thank you for your reply. My DD applied under EA so she is good but she applied at the very end of EA admission. So I was wondering how long we would wait for the results. I saw some people already got accepted but it also seemed they applied early and thatā€™s why they already know the results. My DD didnā€™t get an email from MSU till 11/12 for her account info etc so I know we gotta wait for a whileā€¦but Iā€™m anxious. Lol

Iā€™m confused. if you apply after 11/1 but before 2/1, your decision isnā€™t rolling? So it comes when?

The website just says ā€œby March 31stā€ but I still assume decisions come on a rolling basis and someone applying today on 11/17 wouldnā€™t be waiting until March for a decision.

Does anyone know?

My daughter applied on 10/10 and received acceptance on 11/11. We are honestly surprised to hear back so soon because (if youā€™ve seen my previous posting) we thought all the decisions would come out on January 15. I re-read the timeline and it say ā€˜by January 15ā€™. So technically, you can expect to receive decision anytime but no late than 1/15/22.

My understanding isā€¦ If you apply by 11/1, it is early action and you get the decision by 1/15/22. If you apply by 2/1, it is regular decision and you get decision by 3/15/22. After that, you can apply anytime as rolling admission and you get decision whenever they can as long as they have space. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Still not sure I get it. The 11/1 applicants get decisions on a rolling basis but anyone who misses that deadline will all get their answers on the same day some time in March but by 3/15 at the latest? Or the students who apply after 11/1 still get reviewed as they are received and get answers within a few weeks?

It is always rolling 1/15 for EA and 3/15 for RD are the longest time your decision can take. For EA you can be deferred to RD as well.

If you apply by 11/1, you will have an decision by 1/15/22. If you apply after 11/1 but by 2/1/22 you will get a decision by 3/31/22. After 2/1/22 it is rolling so can be whenever.

Ok. So itā€™s always rolling. I donā€™t get why they say itā€™s only ā€œrollingā€ after 2/1.

When a college isnā€™t rolling admissions, you apply by a deadline and everyone gets their decision on one given date. For example, you apply by 11/1 and decisions are all released on 12/20.

When itā€™s rolling, applicants get decisions as they apply.

Unofficially Rolling. Probably depends on Major and Applicant Stats.

Lot of colleges say you will get a decision by this date. Donā€™t necessarily say we will release all decisions at once. Some release acceptances every week like IU.

Thank you. Thatā€™s good news. Iā€™m sure My DD applied timing was the busiest so we should patiently waitā€¦:pray:thank you for sharing your experience!

Arenā€™t your kids in college now and none of them didnā€™t even apply to Michigan State

Has anyone who applied in August, in state, test optional gotten a decision?

Good luck to your daughter!! I know how difficult it is to wait after the application is submitted.

Iā€™m helping a student who applied.
