I applied to Michigan State on August 12, and still have not heard anything from them. I have had several friends who applied after me already get their acceptances. The major I chose was Pre Medical, I have a GPA of 3.7, and ACT score of 24, I’m taking two advanced placement classes, one dual enrollment class, I participate in varsity volleyball and basketball, and I’m in NHS. I’m panicking about not hearing back from MSU, and I am confused on why they haven’t sent anything to me yet.
Pre-Med is not a major. It is an advisory progeram designed to provide you with advice as to things you should do, including courses to take, summer jobs to apply for, college grades likely needed, etc. and to assist you in applying for entry into med school when you complete college. Putting pre-med on your application for admission simply shows you want to be part of that advisory program but it has no impact at all on whether you will be admitted to MSU.
You should check to make sure that your online account shows you have submitted all required materials such as the application, official test scores from ACT.org, high school transcript, and payment of the application fee. If those have been done, andl those were completed back in August or by early Sep then likely you are just one of many that the university is sitting on for a while so it can see more of the pool of applicants before making a decision on you.
I have all of my things submitted and they have received everything.
Well, if they are sitting on applications as you suggest, I hardly call that rolling admissions.
I applied in late August, i’m instate have a 3.71 with 5 AP this year 2 last year, and a 23 on my ACT(retaking it for a higher score) but my friends are getting in and i’ve been constantly refreshing my email. This is my dream college and im so scared I won’t get in, I just hope they send more out soon:(
I’ve contacted the Office of Admissions two times and they told me everything that was needed had been submitted and for me to be patient it will come soon, but I don’t understand why my classmates who applied after me, are receiving acceptance letters and I’ve heard nothing.
It happens a lot. It just sometimes takes longer to read and applications and make decisions I applied 8/19 and found out 10/14. Just be patient, and good luck!
Got accepted into the athletic training program!
Also I’m looking for a roommate… And suggestions to finding one?
