Historically speaking, Michigan is up there in basketball.

I think the fact that there is absolutely no reasonable doubt that this argument could go on FOREVER should be pretty telling to the OP whether or not one is decidedly better than the other in every way. :P

Twisted’s right. Ultimately, you have to go where your interests fit. If you go to UMich and hate it then you’re not going to do well there. The same is true vice versa. Remember that it is not just a school for 4 years, it is also your home, so you must look at all aspects and not just the academics, not just the clubs, etc, but the university as a whole. I am sure you’ll do very well wherever you go. Good luck!

For what it’s worth, USNews ranks Michigan #27 and MSU #72 in their “top national universities” listing.

Diontechristmas-if you looked at the preseason polls, you would see that we’re highly ranked. Dick Vitale has us at #11. Maybe you’re just bitter that Temple isn’t that good anymore.

Damn. That was harsh jrt.

Okay let’s just make it simple if your going to talk about history UMichigan def. has the edge.

If its current day UMich has the better football team. If its basketball I think its MSU. UMich does have a great basketball team but I don’t think they have any chances over MSU. UMich is kind of like Penn St. since they a give good programs a hard time and are capable of making upsets. MSU and Purdue are def. the teams to beat in the Big Ten this upcoming season.

also don’t forgot MSU had Magic Johnson so Umich’s basketball history can suck it

Msu 26, um 20 (ot)

UM played extremely poorly today, especially the OLine without Molk. I don’t think State is very good, but you have to give them credit for winning it. I still think UM would win 7 out of 10 times. And UCSDJake, how’s Cal doing? They only lost to oregon by like 5 TDs. Hopefully they don’t lose by more to USC.

And we have the Fab5-the only team to make it to the championship game with 5 starting freshman.

Cal is Jahvid Best, not a team.

Oh yeah, Best. The same guy who averaged 3.4 ypc and only got 55 yards against the only good team he’s played so far? Yeah, he’s an absolute stud.

yes you can tell a lot about a player by looking at one game and ignoring all the others

I am ignoring all the others because they were against crappy teams. You can’t be great if you suck against the good teams.

Best update: 3.4 avg and 47 yards against USC in the 4th quarter. Down by 20. Yeah, he should probably win the Heisman.

oh yeah i said he should win the heisman in that one post that doesn’t exist.

also the reason for the low ypc is he’s facing 8-9 in the box every play because cal has no passing game.

The guy is far and away the best running back in the country. You know nothing about college football.

He’s good, but I don’t think he’s the best in the country. Noel Divine and McKnight are playing better.

MSU is a Party School. You can go to class three times a semester and still maintain a 4.0 GPA. I had a conversation about this with a friend in East Lansing at his apartment. In difficulty, it is about the equivalent of Community College.

UofM is a real school. You will actually have to study if you want to get good grades. A 1.0 at Michigan would be the Equivalent of a 4.0 at State.

Please take this into consideration. If you want to be a lazy bum and not really do anything during the time you spend in College and still maintain a high grade point average; choose MSU.

Bull. End of story.
This coming from someone who got into both schools, have many friends at both schools, and has taken classes at both schools. GTF over the elitist attitude.

And then there are actual community colleges, where people like Axion go, not out of laziness, but out of a perfectly understandable lack of intelligence. It’s ok Axion, you can sit this one out buddy, those of us with IQs above 50 have it covered.
