Michigan Universities (English or Psychology)

I live in Michigan and for many reasons it would be nearly impossible for me to go out of state right now. I'm looking for a university that has a good English department or a good Psychology department, and would preferably allow double majors.

I'm a transfer student from a community college with 1.5 years and a 4.0 GPA. I had a 3.98 GPA in highschool and didn't take SAT's or ACT's.

I've applied to U of M (which is my first choice), but I'm trying to plan "back-ups". I've given up on the whole Reach/Match/Safety thing because everything lists U of M as a reach and every other University in Michigan as a Safety (which seems unlikely to me). So I wanted to get some more first hand knowledge about which Uni's had good departments that I should be considering. Oh, and financial aid is a biggy for me (I've got a $0 EFC).

zuzuplace, Since your EFC is O and you have a great GPA, why don't you think about private universities. Kalamazoo or Albian would be two I think would be great for English and Psychology.

Also, the Honors college at MSU might be a possibility.
