Chance me please - Michigan is a reach but my top choice if I could get in!

U of M is my number 1 choice of my reach schools! I didn't write "my favorite" in my "Why do you want to go to Michigan" essay, but I am very proud of the essays I wrote to Michigan and that one in particular.

I am pretty confident in my 2 supplements and the CommonApp required essay. I think writing is my strong point, not testing really - SAT:1950 - CR:670 Math:560 (I had 2 tutors so this is the highest possible I believe) Writing: 720 (1 multiple choice wrong, 8 on the essay)

GPA: unw. 92.51 w. 94.89

4 Honors, 6 APs (Bio- 4, Euro- 3, US- 4, Language- 2 (I'm really bummed about that), and then Lit and Gov this year)

Many extracurriculars - highlights: Varsity Tennis and Golf grades 9-12, NHS, Volunteer work (3 examples), 4 Department awards (math, chem, 2 arts), and some sports awards

What do you think? I know my SAT isn't high, but I believe in my essays and my gpa/class rank are relatively good considering the 10 honors/ap classes I have total. I also think my resume is pretty extensive, although I know thousands of students have better gpas, sats, and resumes.

I applied to the Psychology major, their most popular major- was that bad?

Thanks!

If you’re OOS, reach. If In-State, I think slight reach/match.

I got in OOS with a 30 ACT (~2000 SAT equivalent) and similiar grades. There’s hope for sure! Good luck!

well, Michigan weights GPA and class rigor pretty highly as a variable. A 2000 SAT would be nice, but I agree it is only a slight reach.

I am OOS we have the EXACT same SAT score and very similar class rigor I don’t know how your gap system works but I have a 4.1 weighted! My extracurriculars are slightly better. I just got accepted last night so I think you have a good shot! wishing you luck!!! I hope you are accepted :)
