<p>GPA (unweighted): 3.66
GPA (weighted): 3.95
Class rank: about 67%ile (good public school)
I understand that my GPA is low. Part of the reason is that my school's math program is super hard and I have received relatively low grades in math.</p>

<p>AP:
Comp Gov
Calculus AB
US History
Macroeconomics
Note: My school doesn't offer many AP courses. Most advanced courses are "honors" and are still very difficult. I will take 8 year-long honors courses by the end of high school.</p>

<p>ACT: 28 composite
English: 28, Math: 31, Reading: 27, Science: 26 (Writing score not in yet but I believe it will be a 10)
I plan to improve in a couple subjects. Hoping for a 30 composite.</p>

<p>Extracurricular:
-Editor-in-Chief of school newspaper (achieved in my junior year)
-Volunteer ~200 hrs (mostly in a city-run thrift store)
-Black belt in karate (not currently training)
-Swim team (4 years but never varsity)
-NHS
-I hope to do an internship for a company soon</p>

<p>Strong rec and essay</p>

<p>I know that I'm a stretch because of my GPA, but how close am I?</p>

<p>As it stands, I would say that you’re a low reach for UMich out of state. If your essays/recs truly are strong and you improve your test scores, then I think you have a solid shot at getting in. Chance me back.</p>

<p>Get your ACT up and write spectacular essays. GPA isn’t even that bad if you can get a 32-33. </p>

<p>With both GPA and ACT below the 25th percentile, UMich would be a reach for OOS. The admission average uwGPA was 3.85 last year while the 75th percentile is near 4.0. Mid 50 ACT was 30-33.</p>

<p>Depends on which school within U of M, if ACT composite gets up a point or two match for LSA

<p>With a couple point up in ACT, it would only reach the 25th percentile at 30 for LSA. It would not be a match for students from OOS.</p>

<p>Will need a higher ACT. but I your APs show that you would be able to succeed in school. I would still apply. You have a decent chance of getting in although it is a reach.</p>
