Mid-term Grade Report

I know NYU does not ask for grade reports from any applicants, that it isn't manditory. However, I recieved an email from NYU stating that they've reviewed my application and request that I sent a mid-term grade report. Does anyone know if this is bad news?

(I'm a transfer student)

I don't see why requesting more materials would be considered a bad thing; in fact, I would be happy to know that I wasn't rejected and that they were still taking time to consider my application. That, however, is just my take on it.

i agree, means they didn't take one look at you and say "psh, never"

it may just be for transfers, because this sounds familiar, like ive read a post with people asking this before or something

I just finished my grade report,I hope all goes well.

i got one too
i changed some of the grades on mine

how'd you do that? don't they check?

It has to be an official transcript sent by your school so I don't know how you'd change the grades on it. And if you did, you're stupid.

Pay attention. We're talking about midterm reports, it isn't an official transcript sent by any school. They sent a sheet of paper that teachers sign stating your grade. You shouldn't call someone else stupid if you don't know what you're talking about.

Yeah don't chip in if you don't know what you're talking about, which obviously you don't.

Jes, I changed my grade, like, one of my teachers gave me a B-. I just added a plus sign in front of it with the same color of pen, and made it into a B+. It isn't mandatory for my school to give mid term grades, so on my actual mid term they gave me a "P" for passing. For final grades, the actual grades show up. I had to go directly to each professor and had them estimate my current grade. So even if NYU were to request my midterm grades, all that would show up would be 3 "P"'s and one letter grade. I did that for a few classes. I know I shouldn't have, and I wish I hadn't. But at the time I was desperate. Now I wish that I hadn't done it. I should have thought it over longer.

Ohh I see
I'd be way too scared to do that, I'm a wimp.
But I can see how'd you do that. All of my profs used basic blue or black ink, so yea it would def be easy.

Forgive my mistake. However, prepstad is still stupid if he's changing grades on a report which is to go to NYU. And not only doing it, but bragging about it on an NYU forum which is read by NYU admissions people. Brilliant.

Prepstad never said his name, either.
Or which school he's transferring from.
So who cares if NYU admissions reads it, they won't know who she is. That's the point of a username, you remain anonymous.
I doubt he cares about your opinion though, so unless you have something to contribute...

First, it's she, as in, you don't know who I am. If you don't know, how would some random NYU admissions person know? They wouldn't. It's not as if I've placed my first and last name, telephone number, SSN, and address on the site. I use this site at a local library, so tracing IPs, would mean nothing. So what is your point.
You should also learn to read. I wasn't bragging. I specifically said that I wish I hadn't done it. I don't know where in your mind, regretting something constitutes as 'bragging', but newsflash: it doesn't. Instead of getting in my business, mind your own.
Yes, you're brilliant. You figured it all out, and have still been wrong. Twice. Pure brillance.

Let's see. I wonder how many female transfer applicants to
Stern who are from San Francisco, with these stats there are:
ACT: 35
GPA: 4.0
President of eleven clubs
Good essays
Applying to Stern

Whether it was bragging or not, the fact that you did it and then posted about it here, was stupid. As far as minding my own business, this is a public forum. If you don't want comments, then don't post.

There are a lot of people from San Francisco
There are a lot of people applying to stern
There are a lot of transfers, what's your point?
You can't track someone down based on some obscure posts, that she could have easily lied about.
She could be lying that she's from SF.
She could be lying that that's her GPA.
She could be lying that she's even a transfer student.
She could have suddenly changed her mind and decided to apply to Gallatin.
What is your point?!
What, NYU's going to say, we saw you wrote on CC, so we won't let you in? The fact that you're even suggesting that is more stupid than anything she's posted.

And which is it? Is she bragging or isn't she? Pick a side and stick to it.

the fact that this kid went through 8 pages of my past post just to 'catch' me is creepy. really, you need a life if you'd do that, cause i hell sure wouldn't do all that work for you.

it is fairly easy to lie online, would you like me to demonstrate? or do you really believe that all the bs people say is the truth? you dont know if i made half that crap up.

sorry kiddo, but you need a life
speaking of being wrong: you've been wrong how many times?

lets see, you were wrong about needing transcripts
you were wrong about my "bragging"

oh 2 out of 2
your credit is down

Is there anyway, we could get back on topic? Or will this continue for another four pages?

Sorry. I'll stop =D
i dont really know the answer to your wuestion though

im not trying to get into anything...but just so you guys know...they really do check up on here, and they do research like matth just did to figure out who people are if they see something that bothers them. plus if you are on the nyu bulletin board with the same username, they can just check there for your name, email, location, and whatever else you had to give them to register for that board.

prepstad - even if they cant know for sure, if they can narrow down who you are out of their applicants, they may call your school and verify your grades.

again, im not trying to cause trouble, i just want you guys to be aware =/
