Is anyone going to send a mid-year report? If you do send it will it change anything?

They don't ask for a mid-year report, so no, I see no use in submitting one.

I actually sent one in quite a while ago. It's actually listed on my application status as being received as well. Just because they don't ask for it doesn't mean they wouldn't like to take a glance at it. Doing well in a demanding college curriculum is a big concern for Maryland, and if you did well why wouldn't you want them to see it. Sending senior year grades also shows an underlying interest in the school. That's just my take on it though.

It is 6 or 1/2 dozen. You will send in your final report card, so they will eventually see the grades.

Ok, I have decided that I want to send the mid-year report since I have all A's right now. The only problem is that the semester ends on Jan.23 at my school and final grades should be in a week after that. Do you think they will have enough time to look at it if I applied early action. If they don't have enough time can I send in first quarter grades?

No...and to be honest, I am not sure how they review the kids records, but I would assume with 28K applicants ly, many kids have already been reviewed by now, since they are about 30 days away from releasing Priority decision. Even if only 15K applicants apply, and there are teams reading all of those essays, you are talking about 160 work hrs left and 30K+ essays. The cut-off date is there so they can start reviewing. They can't physically get them all done in 1 day, it takes weeks upon weeks.

Finally, if you have all A's now and had them mid-term, did your gpa move at all in very large amt? That means more than 0.2. If you were on the cusp of acceptance unless it really moved than it will make no difference at all. Remember they are looking at the whole package, that includes essays and EC's not just gpa

Yeah. If your grades have stayed relatively unchanged it probably won't sway them.

ok thanks I won't send it

I took 1 AP and 2 honors and 2 regular classes last year, and got all A’s. This year, I’m in 3 AP’s and 2 regular classes, and I got B’s in the 3 AP classes (these B’s are what worry me…!) and A’s in the rest.

Can I get into William and Mary with these grades plus:
31 ACT
4 years varsity swimming, all-state junior and senior year, captain senior year
literary magazine all four years, editor senior year
special olympics volunteer coach
200 hours of other community service
Anti cancer club at school
National honor society
great common app essay
spent 2 weeks in china with high school
?

thanks! sorry, it’s just that i’m nervous…

??? haha, did you copy this post, since you ask whether you can get into W&M??? If you want to know about UMD, what’s your overall GPA and where are you from… if you are from MD, assuming your GPA is OK, you should be accepted.
