mid year reports

my friend told me that he forgot to send his midyear report for senior year and he still got accepted to most of his schools...
if you don't send it will they automatically reject you or just not consider your senior year grades?

im asking for a friend who does not have an account...and yes this will be posted in multiple school threads so suck it lol

send it. would you honestly want to risk your chances for admission? there are oddballs in admissions every year. there are also liars. (I'm betting on your friend being this one.)

With the new system UVa implemented your file could be viewed as incomplete. You might get an email or you might not.

Why would your friend not want to send it in? It only takes 5 minutes to do it.

trust me i told him the same thing 100 times

i just posted this so i could kill his Gatorade..no lie

Think logically, if you're trying to sell yourself to a school, why would you purposely not do something as simple as sending in a transcript?

If someone doesn't complete their application, we "force complete" them (not a term used at UVa, but one in fairly common use in college admission). We go around the student and call the school ourselves to get the grades. In mid-February, I think most admission offices have a few people who are trying to force complete applications all day long.

If everyone followed directions and filed applications properly, we might get decisions out sooner. There are many files that only become complete at the end of February or beginning of March, when colleges are trying to finalize decisions and move to the printing/folding/stuffing phase. All those incomplete apps prevent us from moving into that phase.

Complete your apps, please!

I thought that the school is the one sending the mid year transcripts, not the student?

At some schools, students have to request a MY transcript. You're right in thinking that many counselors do it automatically.

I should add that the "forced complete" process usually includes a few emails to the student, asking them to send required information. We don't call the school right away.

Hi i have a question about mid-year grades. I am taking very rigorous courses such as AP English, AP Chemistry, AP Spanish, AP US Gov, AP Statistics, and Advanced Art. My grade is slipping a little, but I am still maintaining an A to a B in each class. My grades are not as high as previous years. If my grades during the mid-year report is not as high as previous years, will that affect my chances of getting accepted?

yeah I'm very curious about this.
are the MY reports part of review or more of a checkup?

i am really hoping to pull a B in my MV Calc class but am very afraid that a C is a slight possibility (i dont even want to say it)- how horrible is this?- would a school rescind a would-be acceptance if I got a C on my transcript and never had before?
