Whether you're from the ME or just live there, introduce yourself and tell us what you're up to!

I live in the insufferably hot region of desert that is Kuwait and constantly moan about the state of our weather - in the last few days we've had an unpleasant combination of humidity, dust and rain...all in one day! Anyway, I plan on attending Stanford in the fall where I hope to make good use of my growing collection of shiny flip-flops. I love flip-flops. :D

Hey Everyone!
it's about time for this thread, good idea nkay.
My name is Dan, I'm from Israel, I go to TAU (Tel Aviv University), might join the student exchange program, if so then probably to the US...

Hey everyone!
I'm Iranian (born and live in the U.S., though) and will be attending UConn's Honors program this fall as a molecular and cell bio major.

I'm half-Iraqi half-Jordan, and I currently reside in Amman.

I'm in the process of picking a school, and by the looks of things, I believe I'll be heading to the University of Waterloo in the fall to double-major in Honors Pure Mathematics and Computer Engineering.

Yep! I flew over there for a weekend in March just to see my grandparents, whom I hadn't visited in a looong time. Great trip. The weather was amazing, the air smelled wonderful, and we spotted the king!

haven't been there since my senior year class trip, we had a 3 day trip to Eilat... that was so much fun...
have you ever been there? where are you from?

are you jewish / israeli?
hope you don't mind me asking, where in europe? i've heard many people from sweden and norway come to Eilat during the cold european winter...

Hey!
I'm Indian...I live in Oman though..and yes..we don't like to talk about the weather either! :P

You'll be in good company though..flip-flops are THE in thing in the US...that's one thing I noticed when I visited.

The good thing being from the middle-east is that the summers there won't compare....but the winters will kill...which is why I'm heading for the south! :D

I know! I'm going to be laughing at people complaining about the summer "heat." Winters I won't have to encounter, but I'll probably find the chilly summer nights freezing, haha. Which college are you going to, nt?

Am from bahrain .. dunno about my chances in anywhere but i will spend one year in university of Bahrain and then move to University of MIchigan I guess .. i just need some preperations for extra SAT II subjects , i currently have math level IIC 780 , chemistry 800 physics 790. I might it take one in Literature.

Are you all private schoolers .. for those from kuwait ? does the country provide outstanding students scholarships. My school gpa is 98.5 % and am aiming for medicine or chemistry but there are no chances to study abroad, i mean to get financial aid or studenship to anywhere from the country. So can I get one from the kuwaiti goverment ? they already donate 5 scholarships from a kuwaiti fund each year , but i dont think i can beat the bush around anyone .. ? i would be greatful if u can ask me about this.

What's this...a Middle Eastern thread and trailing the Indian thread. Come on people...look alive! We are only 5,000 posts away from overtaking the Indians! LOL

Glad to see some of you young ladies and gents from Bahrein, Iran, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman and Syria going to some top universities. I am confident that our futre will be brighter with many of you returning to our part of the world to make it a better place.
