I'm a junior now, but until midway through my sophomore year I acted as though like the point of school was to see what a could be begotten with a little effort as possible. My GPA in 8th grade was 2.1. Now I've gotten on track (9th: 2.7; 10th: 3.5; 11th: est'd 3.8 or 4.0). Freshman year my grades were 1 A, 2 Bs and 3 Cs and I haven't gotten any grade lower than a B+ since. My question is: when colleges look at my transcript my D- in online Spanish I and C in Algebra I from 8th grade will be on there, along with my original 74 on my state end of grade exam in Alg I (with a 94 on my make up). I know my freshman year will likely still be taken into a account and will still carry weight, but will the high school classes I took in middle school matter? (They aren't calculated into my GPA)

No. Nada. Nein.

No it won’t matter. And just keep in mind its a positive thing to see that you’ve really matured and improved

They won’t see your middle school grades and many schools don’t even count freshmen grades.

thank you all for the input!!

Some of my nastier middle school teachers used to threaten this. It was a complete f***ing lie, and still is.

Colleges only ask for your high school transcripts, and they only look at transcripts they ask for.

Oh yeah, my entire middle school transcript isn’t on there, but I took some classes for high school credit in middle school so they get tacked onto my high school transcript right above my 9th grade classes with a parenthetical note, (HS-Credit)
