Haha. I am always confused between GCE, GCSE and IGCSE. Thank You for the info.
They must be from the 2012 Class. Amazing batch it was (Y)
I was contemplating a gap year too after my horrible LCAT but I got a decent acceptance. Thank God. :)

Well I know GCE is O Levels, I’m not sure about GCSE and IGCSE
And noo, I know people from the current A1 batch, though JT always does have really good students.
Oh that’s goood. Where’d you get in?

Right. I got in WUSTL :D

for those of you who got the reminder email, did yours say how rejected students will only be recieving email communication at the end of it. I feel like they’re trying to give me a hint I really want to go to Midd. :(

Yes, we received that same email. Let’s just see what happens Saturday.

@Maaz, that’s a really good one. Congratulationsss! :D

@notroy, everyone received the same email I guess.

Ugh, I want to get in so badly… I have a feeling that so many of Midd’s applicant spots are reserved for Northeast prep schools though, of which I am not from

I disagree completely! I think the northeast kids are at a disadvantage. I feel like Midd wants to get away from that reputation!

When I saw middlebury in my mail inbox, for a split second, I thought they might have released decisions early got really happy. No such luck :(

I had the chance to talk to a former head of their economics dept (he’s a friend of a close family friend) and he said that Midd was trying to accept more international applicants and students from other parts of the US.
Regardless, I still think that a good student at Exeter will probably get in. That’s more the reputation of the schools specifically and how well they teach their students, not necessarily just because they’re in the NE

I hope you all are right! I’ve just heard from a lot of people that Midd and those types of schools have preference for those types of schools. Nice to know that Midd’s trying to get away from that! Hopefully that’ll help my application!

Well, I also got accepted to WUSTL Engineering, and since it has a 5% acceptance rate, I hope that its a signal for other(although I got a rejection from UChicago). As an international, I hope my chances are high since I really, REALLY aspire being a Middlebury’er… (if thats what they call it?)

Congrats… hopefully it is a good sign, and if it isn’t, you have a great offer under your belt :D

i got an email from middlebury a couple weeks ago asking for a very specific piece of financial aid info… should i speculate that to be a good sign?

@iozsan

They’re called Middkids!

@sheza Thank You!
@joker. Man dont pull up our expectations too high being internationals :P

(awkwardly joining in on the conversation four pages later haha)

I’m so excited!! 65 hours, woohoo!!
(if my math is right… which it probably isn’t hah).

Good luck guys!

Hey everyone!
I was wondering, how important is demonstrated interest and an interview for Middlebury? I didn’t (get?) an interview (can you just ask for one?) nor could I demonstrate any interest.

Also, how is everyone feeling about their decisions? After getting rejected from WUSTL, UChicago and Yale-NUS in a row, I have no expectations from any university/college :P

Interviews are provided based on availability and not a testament to an applicants standing. Not having one will not hurt you although having one can help you, albeit slightly. Interest also has a minimal impact on your application (unless you apply ED) because not everyone has the opportunity to visit Midd or has information sessions in their area. It’s the type of thing where it can’t hurt you but can help slightly. Some other schools place a much higher emphasis on interest due to ‘Tufts Syndrome.’

I got rejected from Claremont McKenna which I applied ED to but that’s the only school I’ve heard back from so far so I have no clue what to expect. Hopefully I get into all my matches/safeties this Friday so I won’t be too upset if I don’t get into Midd or the ivies I hear from next week.

57 hours and 25 minutes left…the waiting is unbearable!!! I wish the time can be moving faster. ><

43 hours and 26 minutes… Just slightly obsessed…
