uh accepted,
3.5 gpa (UW) Probably like 3.6 Weighted.
Took as many AP’s as i could, probably like 11 or something
test optional
I am in Track (captain), Cross Country (captain), Orchestra, Grammar Club, Key Club, NHS (president), Transition Coach (Cabinet Member),
I did volunteering with Key Club a lot, and I also went to a dual language program from elementary to the end of middle school.
I was really surprised, I was half asleep when I opened it.
I also got a likely letter from Cornell, so I’m probably going to go there
Haha I was pretty sleepy when I opened it up too, and had a very underwhelming response. Congrats on both acceptances, they are both wonderful schools! I recommend considering Midd before immediately taking Cornell (even if it has that Ivy League reputation). Midd’s student culture is truly something special.
SAT: 1600
GPA: 4.0 unweighted 4.406/4.5 weighted
I will have taken 13 AP classes by the time I graduate - I got 5 5s and 3 4s on the tests I have already taken
ECs: Cross Country Captain, member of a select orchestra group, tutor.
I procrastinated a lot so I was really glad that Middlebury didn’t have any supplemental essays. My Common App essay was solid but not fantastic.
I got in! No SAT or ACT. A 3.75 UW GPA. No legacy or hooks. Had pretty good extracurriculars (sports, internships, and volunteer work). Solid essay (I think). Got rejected by Williams and Wash U early decision. Got waitlisted at Colby, Hamilton, Lehigh, Emory, and Grinnell. Not even sure how I got in compared to the rest of you but I’m happy.
Congrats! It’s interesting, some people who got into Midd didn’t get into Colby, and some people who didn’t get into Colby got into Midd. Guess that’s normal with highly selective LACs!
And I don’t want to hear “I’m not sure how I got in compared to the rest of you!” Clearly they saw something in you that would enrich the school and class, just like with every other admit!
@college1223567…can’t afford WFU or Mich, Kenyon, MB, UMass-Amherst, etc…and can afford Bucknell now but not in 2 years when middle graduates college.so will probably fall down to next tier and just go to RIT, Michigan State, Willamette or Carthage…she’ll live.
Are you basing your knowledge on the poll or on CC in general? Because either of these sources are completely misleading. People are much more likely to report acceptance than they are denial or a waitlist. You’ll have to wait to see the numbers when they get released.
No. Admissions released their statistics yesterday. They admitted 1450 students from rd. The typical class Middlebury aims for is about 720 students. In ED 1 and 2, they took a combined 425 students. They also had some gap year students. Knowing they already have space issues in prior years, it doesn’t make much sense.
Did they break down how many Feb vs September admits? They probably need to admit more Febs relative to Sept to yield the 100 Febs they need every year.
