Middlebury for URM's

I was just wondering how difficult it would be for a URM as myself, African-American, to get into Middlebury with my stats. I'm aware that anyone applying as a URM can't solely rely on this status to boost your chances if you have crap stats, I'm just wondering if I have a chance at all.

I think your ECs are fine (about as good as mine were and I got in), but I would try to get your grades up a lot senior year and definitely try to get at least a 30 on your ACT. I know Middlebury and LACs need URMs more than universities generally do, but I don’t know if it will help you THAT much.

So are you from Chicago? Public school? Are you also financially disadvantaged? If you can answer yes to these three questions, you have an excellent chance, because you can argue the standardized test not being an accurate reflection of your actual abilities.

Caveat: how did your subscore on the writing look? If that is 10, you really have a great chance. Push the grades, retake the test, write a fab essay, and cross those fingers!
