Middlebury Transfer Applicants Fall 2009

Anyone else applied?
My teeth are just about falling out because I have been clenching them so hard. I kid not.
April 5th (well, April 6th for me because I'm in Sydney, Australia) couldn't come sooner - I just want to know, one way or the other, so I can move on with my life!
Pray. Pray. Pray.

D is applying transfer also. Are you sure about the April 5 date? Good luck

That's the date it says admissions decisions will be released when I log into to their applicant website. 8AM Eastern Time April 5th. In addition, I recieved notification from Middlebury in an email that decision letters will be posted the day before, on April 4th.
But yes, it does seem soon because many other schools don't notify transfer applicants until May or June. I guess Midd's small size is a factor?
Good luck to your daughter!

Do you think we'll find out midday tomorrow or in the evening? And I'm really curious how many transfers they're taking. They didn't take any last year.

claire06, I didn't get that email. Bad sign?

OCCT- seems that a few people did not get the initial email with log in information. It appears that decisions will be posted to the internet at 8AM Sunday morning. Written decisions mailed on Saturday.

They didn't take transfers last year because they were so overenrolled with the class of '11.

Historically they take very few transfers. This year will be different again due to the economy. All schools are probably worried about more attrition then other years. Then there is the financial aid issue. Lot of discussion on CC that full pay applicants are at an advantage this year. Then the question of how transfer apps they actually received. Was it a down year for applications into schools like Midd?

I guess Sunday will answer some questions and raise new ones. Good luck to all and please post your results when you get them.

I called the admissions office, and they said decisions will be going up on the 4th. I know the website says the 5th, so that's where I got a little confused.

I know I'm not getting in, but getting a solid answer is nice. I have an EFC of 0, so originally my chances were bad, but not it's worse with the economy being what it is.

I do find it interesting that between the two recent threads that deal with transfers, there are only what 4 different people in discussion. Where is everyone else?

Haha! Maybe only four people applied! Haha! How excellent would that be?!
No, I think some people either don't know about CC or don't want to post information etc online.

By the way OCCTransfer, does that mean decisions are uploaded ONLINE on April 4th? AHHH! Getting nervous. Ditto about the FA thing too. Why did the financial crisis have to strike now?

did anyone hear today? wondering if online notices are going out Sat or Sun.

Yeah, I've been checking all day. I guess the lady I talked to from admissions had the date wrong.

lol, I was talking to my friend's uncle today, and when he heard I applied to Middlebury he said, "Um, isn't Middlebury a little too hippy for you?" I've never heard that stereotype, but I just said, "Maybe, but I'm getting denied anyway"

Really? I didn't know it had a 'hippy' reputation. Maybe because it is in Vermont?!
Not long now...

So what time tomorrow? Good luck to all!!!

After 8am? Going by the email...

5am my time. Good luck everyone! I wish you all the best

Yup! Best of luck!

Denied. Was desperately hoping for otherwise, but I expected it.
I wonder if anyone knows any stats?

Denied. That sucks cause if I'm not good enough for Middlebury, I can forget about Amherst.

Yeah it sucks. And that rejection letter was beyond short!
I'd like to know how many transfers they accepted.
Ditto about Amherst. Fail.
