Middlesex- a couple of statistics for waitlisters

Ok, so 300+ people sent in applications in. Around 100 people got accepted all grades included. 25 people are on the wait list. Usually, around the time of June, they lose about 10 people who said that they were going because of financial problems or cold feet about the whole boarding school situation. Then there are the people who applied to Middlesex but also got accepted to schools such as Exeter, Andover, SPS, or Groton. So there is a little bit of hope for the wait listers.....

PS. My dad called into the admissions office to figure some of this out, but I am sorry if all the numbers are not correct, they were estimations from the people in the admissions office. Good Luck everyone! Congrats to the people who were accepted to their schools :)

Thank you! Son was waitlisted at MX but accepted at Exeter so this is helpful.

Did he happen to ask if you can still receive fin aid if you are taken off the wait list?

I was accepted to Middlesex! Woohooo!

but my dad is giving me lots of pressure to attend Andover and Exeter. I must admit that those schools are tempting! Hotchkiss and Groton are too!

Haha I loved Groton. The theatre department, sports center, and overall academics are amazing. Just remember whenever ou decide, make sure you inform the school quickly-that way others may attend. :)

I am sorry to interject a sour note into this. But last year MX took no one off the waitlist. I know. D was on it. Also, there is no priority or order in coming off waitlist. They fill slots based on the vacancy. Thus, a 10th grade boy slot doesn’t help a 9th grade waitlisted girl.

Of course, this year the economy might change everything.
