Midyear Grade Concern...anyone else?

Hey all,

This is my situation: My overall from last semester was a 3.456. This semester, I might do a little worse (3.33 or lower). The reason it is this low is because of one course (my writing class). I'm a terrible writer and I think I'll be getting a C or C- on my midyear. All my other classes (bio, chem, sociology) I managed to get As.

Without my writing course, my GPA is a 3.88. With the writing course, it will be an horrendous 3.33 or lower.

Just wondering, how would they react to the grade from my writing course. I'm premed and as you can see, my science grades are fine. Would it matter less since it's a course outside of my major? And secondly, should I send in a statement explaining this?

Thanks!

any ideaS???

well see writing is important in any major...but it wouldn't depend on colleges...

I agree..writing is important...

Should I submit a letter of explanation? Writing is a class that can be unfair sometimes...if the prof. dislike your writing or something...etc etc...ya kno what i mean?

yea I understand...writing is a pretty subjective...I think you are better off talking to someone from the college you are applying to and asking them what you should do.
