Bah i hate college grading system

my midterm grades were:

calcIII: 97%
psych: 98%
english: 100%
bio: 76%

if i were in high school (where they combine the subjects and average it out), my gpa would be damn respectable... but that 90 and 100 are treated the same way in college (both As)... so I'm quite peeved :(

what's worse is that my intented major is bio lol. to be fair, the test was pretty damn hard

A, A, A, C or C+ (depending on your school) .. that's not too bad.
i think mine's gonna look like A, A, B+, B, A. not too sure yet though.

If those mid-semester reports just say to complete them between march 1 and march 31 and there aren't any other specific instructions, are we allowed to have them filled out before midterms are graded so that it can be sent in with the rest of the app?

yeah but the thing is, if it just says A the college won't know if I got a 99 or a 90 T.T
so i might as well have gotten 90 90 90 76

thats what i like about the grading system. most of my a's are in the low 90's.

Depends on the school...my college had pluses and minuses. I am not sure in the long run which is better...

I think that +/- is worse...at CU, you can't get a 4.3 for an A+, it only goes up to A/4.0, but if you get an A-, it's down to a 3.7. I would have a 3.6 instead of a 3.4 if it weren't for that.

we have to fill out midsemester reports as transfer students?

Yeah same at Dartmouth...a few A+s would have been nice to counter the A-s.

same here (and all the UC's) except we get no bonuses for A+'s

A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3

etc..

How much do mid-semester grades count, especially if you had a strong first semester and a strong high school record?? I'm really getting nervous... freaking out actually...

haha me too... i barely pulled a B on my last midterm.

i am soooo lucky, i narrowely got my grade for my math class on the first test, which is the onle one in the month of march up from a B+ to Barely, barely to an A- but it is nonetheless an A-, and that is what will be showed on the midterm for UPenn, i am very lucky, 4 credits A-, rather than B+

lol i just realized that I pulled that B by 0.7 %

im content

I think if one should get an A+, then the registrar or whomever should grant an extra three or four credits towards his/her degree. That'll be so tasteful. :D

or even a cash prize

or even pay off student loans.

or even a second degree

Elimination of student loans sounds better.

How about the class is free? Lol so many people would become such tools though.
