Midyear Grades?

As some of you may know, I applied EA and was deferred in December. My midyear grades were released in mid-February. I asked my (slightly ditzy) GC to send them to Tulane (which is usually procedure for schools that students were deferred from). I also paid a visit to my Assistant Principal and asked him to see that an updated transcript was sent down. I checked in a few days later, and my GC insisted that it was being taken care of.

Flash forward to last Friday... Gibson Online was still showing "pending" and so I went to my GC to talk about it. She asked me if I had asked her to submit my midyear grades. WHAT???? Suddenly, she "can't remember" whether she sent them or not, and has no record of it.

I sent a lengthy e-mail to my adcom that evening... still have not heard back. Is there anything I can do at this point? Or do I just need to keep my fingers crossed and pray that a) she actually did send out my transcript, or b) my initial application and my displayed interest are enough to keep me going through the RD pool?

PS, GC has failed to secure tenure and will be released at the end of the school year for her many, many screw ups.

It’s not too late. Have your school fax the grades to Tulane Monday and ask to watch them be faxed. Then call your admissions counselor and make sure they got them. This is too important for you to be the victim of incompetent screw-ups.

Your other option is to call your admissions counselor at Tulane and see if they did indeed get them already. If no, then do the above.

Thanks, Fallenchemist. :)

I think I’ll bypass the GC altogether and go straight to the Assistant Principal. I’ve really had enough of this woman.

No wonder you are a “nervous senior”!
