Midyear report? Please help!

I have to deal with the midyear report myself as my couselor has no idea about it. (I'm an international student and the majority of students in my school do not go to American colleges) I have a few questions:

1) My couselor sent in the counselor receommendation on-line through Commonapp. Does the midyear report have to be sent on-line through Commonapp as well?

2) Does my counselor have to give information which is identical to that on the counselor rec? (e.g., evaluation)

3) I'm not sure when my school will release my fall term's transcript. Will colleges disregard my applications if I do not send in the midyear report by the deadlines?

Thanks for your patience. Any advice will be appreciated!

If your counselor sent the rec. and the SSR online, then the mid-year report also needs to be sent online.

The mid-year report is identical to the SSR, however, with a mid-year report your GC should have the option of ticking a box at the top, which says something along the lines of “please tick if your recommendation of the applicant has changed.” So, your GC may not need to write another evaluation if he feels like nothing has changed.

For this you might want to check with the colleges themselves, explaining your situation in detail to them.

Hope this helps. :)
