Does anyone know how much weight they put on midyear reports for transfer students, i assume its more than high school students? I applied to william and mary as a transfer for the fall of my sophmore year. My GPA of my first semester at Virginia Tech was a 3.77. However so far this semester I am bordering a B+/A- for three of my classes (one lab and two core) and a C for one 3 credit class. The class i have a C in will get higher because they drop one test score and I bombed the first test since my teacher told me not to read my physics book, i found out most of his students do not listen to him in order to do well. The other classes should be an A- to an A before the semesters end, I just had borderline tests thus far....I am a little worried they will reject me based on my midyear even though I am confident that my gpa will get raised for my next round of tests (which is after the midyear is due)..any thoughts on how much I should be worrying...?...also i am in-state..

I transferred last semester. I think you'll be in regardless. But you could submit some sort of addendum with your mid year report explaining the situation. I don't think you have too much to be worried about, but an explanation to the adcom would make your outlook even brighter. Hope that helps.

With a GPA of 3.77, if you are a VA resident you will get in. Just write a note explaining the C and how you will try to improve it. That will show some initiative. Make sure you write a decent essay and get a recommendation!

If you do all of that, you'll get in for sure.

you really think it wouldnt make that big of a difference? i hope so, i am still very worried i will not get in...

Dude, you are so in! You've done a great job at Tech. I would be very surprised if you were not admitted. Best of luck to you. You will love William and Mary.
