Mild Case of Senioritis

I'm applying to some elite colleges for regular decision. My GPA during the past three years has been relatively stable at slightly over 94. However, it's dropping this year, not precipitously, but perceptibly, perhaps to an A-. I've gotten more Bs this year than usual, and my present curriculum, though rigorous, is only slightly more rigorous than my previous ones.

I'm sure colleges see this trend, but how much do they weigh it? How much do senior grades matter?

I'll end by saying last year someone on CC didn't send in a midterm report into Cornell and called its office. The office told him "don't worry about it; we don't really look at it."

In response to Milkmagn, there have also been posts by Admissions officers emphasizing the importance of senior grades. You should still do your best.

I read that, Milkmagn, and I will second URichmond2010 in that others have said that seniors' grades are of utmost importance. I'll try my best in either case, but I'm trying to determine a slip's impact on my chances.

^Ok, if you know that already, why bother asking in the first place?

sorry, essays are more important than senior year grades
