Minor grade dips towards the end of the year...

Hello, CC. this is my first post here, and I have a question that to me seems very pressing and is weighing on me but which will likely end up not to be a big deal.

Two of my grades are now Bs, one appears to be a low B, and knowing the teacher, I likely won't get many more grades in before the end of the year and it'll probably remain there. Outside of my father's ire, if that grade, god forbid, were to drop to a C or a D even, or I had multiple Bs or Cs by the end of the year, will I suffer any other consequences, as far as my admission goes? I'm getting all the credits I need to graduate for sure. I have been accepted and have committed to Duke University. Will Duke see my lowered grades on my end-of-year report and decide to rescind my admission, and does that happen often, if at all?

Just don’t get any Ds or Fs.

Minor grade dips – not a concern.
Major grade dips – how major. Though rescission does occur, it’s not common. Duke really does not want to rescind your admission.

So, do the best you can. D’s and F’s might be a problem, though I’m not positive that one D would be (though it could lead to a lesser sanction such as academic probation – I don’t know Duke’s policies).

The best answer – if you got into Duke, you probably got there by hard work. Continue working hard, and don’t let up now.

^ yeah, even though no one likes to admit it, admissions people know that its practically inevitable you’re going to have some lower grades the last part of high school. Even if you did get a D, which for the sake of pride I’d suggest not doing, I don’t think you’d get tossed. We send guys to Duke every year here, and I know some of them - they fell off a bit senior year too and had no issues.
