Since I know Michigan is a big buisness school, I figured I may get a more accurate answer posting the question here.

Can you still earn a bacholers degree if finance, buisness, economics etc... assuming one takes it as a minor? How much will it affect future job oppurtunities? I ask this question since I plan to major in international relations ( not sure what specialization) and possibly minoring in economics, finance, buisness etc... Though I also question would this be a tough workload, assuming one also has to learn a second language. I may not plan to have a minor if so.

Well also considering I have interest in attending University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, as oppose to Moo… (?) and agriculture, which doesn’t even relate to my question.

no. I am saying, say Michigan is a “big business school” is equivalent to saying Moo U is a “big agriculture school”…

there’s a difference between
Michigan HAS a big business school/Moo U HAS a big agriculture school
and
Michigan IS a big business school/Moo U IS a big agriculture school.

get it?

Also, do your research, ross does not offer a minor for non-ross students

I actually never heard of Moo ( like cow “moo”… I think) U and thought your comment intentions were more so meaning… what is the point of saying Michigan is a big buisness school, though I guess I was assuming wrong.

I’m not talking about ross in general, nor to be that specific UM-Ann Arbor. I’m looking for a simple answer to the given information, even if that means one would have to exclude ross to make it a possibility.

OMG let me break it down for you so it’s easier for you to comprehend

"Can you still earn a bacholers degree if finance, buisness, economics etc… assuming one takes it as a minor? "

I assume “if” is a typo and you mean “of”.
First of all, there is no bachelors of finance or bachelors of economics, those fall under bachelors of business administration, or bachelors of science.
Also, you dont earn a major in something you minor in… i thought that’s a pretty simple concept.

I also made a point of your comment “Michigan is a big business school”, you are the one who said that

Michigan IS NOT a big business school. Saying so is equivalent of saying Moo U is a big argriculture school.
FACT: Michigan HAS a big business school. Moo U has a big agriculture school. that doesnt mean Michigan = big business school… It might be OCD on my part but just getting you corrected

this was from an article in sports illustrated, 1961
“The University of Michigan likes to think of itself as the Harvard or Yale of the Midwest, old and dignified and ivied. On the other hand, Michigan regards its in-state neighbor, Michigan State, as a shaggy country cousin, oafish and ill-mannered. When the two schools play football, as they did last Saturday at Ann Arbor, the Michigan rooters occasionally express their contempt for the Staters by shouting “moo” across the field, the ultimate insult to a school that until recently was just a small agricultural college in the cow pastures of East Lansing.”

Wow really? I have no clue what was even your reason of answering my question in that manner. Your just being really ridiculous, and I’ll appreciate if you do not post on this thread again.

“If” is a typo, not for “of” but “in”, since it seems like that amazes you in such a great way.

^I actually think you were typing “of” not “in” because “i” and “o” are right next to each other and easier to hit one than the other than “f” and “n”, especially because “f” and “n” use two different hand.

"Can you still earn a bacholers degree if finance, buisness, economics etc… assuming one takes it as a minor? " (spelling)
–Number one, you don’t get 2 “bachelors” if you double major even if you fulfill both requirements (there are only some special conditions). So if you can’t get a bachelors when you double major, why would you be able to get it with a minor? Also there is not minor in finance, business if you are not in Ross as your major. There isn’t even a minor in business or finance. BBA contains all that. You can only minor in economics. And you can’t get a bachelors unless that is your primary major.

My intentions were to type “in” and not “of”. As none of you are in my head, I was actually thinking of other things while I was typing, leading me to type the word of.

Also bearcat I guess I read your other post wrong, unless it was change during edit. When you mention OCD, I thought you were speaking of me… though it was yourself. But still, eaiser to comprehand???Oh well, maybe you were not trying to specificly say I have comprehension problems.

Coolbrezze, Michigan is not a “big business school” not does it have a “big business school”. Ross enrolls 1,000 of Michigan’s 26,000 undergrads. Business programs such as Wharton and Stern have 2,000 undergraduate students. Broad at MSU enrolls a whopping 5,000 undergrads. So clearly, Ross is not “big”. Of course, it isone of the top 3 or 4 unergraduate programs in Business and placement into companies from Ross is impressive, but it is in fact a smallish program.

This said, you cannot pick a minor at Ross. You can only major at Ross and for that to happen, you must get admitted into the program, either as a preadmit or once you are at Michigan.

When mentioning it’s a big buisness school, I wasn’t speaking of it’s enrollment size but more so it’s large recognition and demand by students wanting to attend, like University of Texas- Austin buisness school.

I don’t have much intentions on being admitted into Ross, thanks for the answers…
