Minority in a majority white community...

Thats my topic. Basically, i talked to someone who knows me well and they brought up the essay topic of how i was able to make all minority friends in an almost white community.

my friends' race range from mexican, colombian, italian, english, macedonian, korean, chinese, israeli, and others...

in the essay, im also going to talk about how my mexican friend and i gone through a lot in high school together and how this friendship between us was built...as well as how the minority group of friends some how became friends...

any feedback would be great

thanks

I'd approach it in a way that discusses how much you value diversity in all aspects of your life.

alright thanks, any more feedback?

more feedback please

remember the "show, don't tell" rule - give examples that show how you value diversity and how your life has been affected by interactions with your friend from Mexico and your other varied friends. Remember the essay is about you, telling the admissions officers more than they knew before about you, so don't spend a lot of the essay talking about detailed characteristics of your friends. I think this will be a hard essay to write. I think it might be better to focus on fewer things - a few incidents or ideas that you tie together, or one special incident that pulls in the impact of your multicultural friends on your life. I suggest you don't talk too much about your "mexican, colombian, italian, english, macedonian, korean, chinese, israeli" friends. Good luck!
