I submitted my FAFSA today, which is the deadline for 2 schools I am applying to. However, I applied for a PIN today as well, and it says it takes 1-3 days for it to be verified. Then it says that my FAFSA is not completely processed until I get the signatures via PIN, which hasn't been verified yet. Am I missing the deadline?

If you have submitted the FAFSA, then it is submitted. You can't use the pin for anything else until it is verified.

So the colleges will get it even though I didn't sign it yet?

You should call FAFSA directly on matters like this, along with those colleges you applied to.

Usually you get to use that just-applied-for PIN to sign the FAFSA Once (at least that is what you should have done). Then it gets verified with SS in Wash DC (we assume) to see if the birthday and SSN match. The FAFSA will still show as submitted, it will just show that the PIN was not correct, or something (if it does not get verified). But I HOPE you used that brand new PIN to sign the form at least, and sent it off. The computer will then show that you submitted it on that day, even if there are problems with it.

You DO get a "congratulations. Your FAFSA has been submitted" page if you have completed it. ALWAYS print out that page, or email it to yourself, so that you have a record, in case the issue comes up.

That page also has your prelim. EFC, so you want to have a copy of it.

If you didn't sign it, then it is not submitted. If you submitted it, then it is signed. You can't submit an unsignged FAFSA. Computers are good at stopping you from doing that.

It is signed with an "unverified" PIN, which is valid for submitting the FAFSA. That is all an unverified PIN is good for. You can't use the unverified PIN to sign loan docs and other such stuff.
