What happens if I checked Early Action on the Common App and sent my application in but the other materials get there much later?
Can I just be considered for Regular Decision then?

If you apply EA but send necessary supporting materials too late, you are just kicked over to RD. Of course, be aware that at many colleges with EA and a Nov 1 deadline, you will likely be deemed timely if you apply by Nov 1 and supporting materials arrive by mid-Nov.

Everyone’s materials flow in. A lot of it goes after the Nov 1 deadline. If the college in question is lacking in something material before they must make decisions, they will contact you or the school for that missing item. Don’t sweat it.

You’ve done your part. Your high school will do the rest.

^Don’t count on that follow-up by college for missing materials for EA. Colleges do that for RD but experience I have seen with EA is that they don’t; they just kick you over to RD if required materials are missing and then you will you get that follow-up as part of RD process.

Hmmm… fair warning. I can see that happening. Thnx drusba.
