So I applied to Smith University and submitted my application around the deadline which is January 15. After this I did an interview with another school and wondered if Smith needed one as well so I looked it up. I find on the website it says an interview is recommended and that the deadline for Off-campus interviews was February 1st. So apparently I missed the deadline (though I think it’s kind of odd for them to not email about the interview reminder especially if they only give a 15 day window) so I’m now wondering if I should try to email them about possibly still scheduling one? Do you think I should or just let it go? It’s not required but it does say it’s highly recommended which worries me a lot. Thanks in advance for the advice.
How serious are you about Smith? If it is at or near the top of your list, then email them and ask. If it is too late to arrange an off campus interview, is it too late to arrange one on campus or by telephone/Skype?
It is not surprising at all that Smith didn’t send an email reminder. The information is right on the website. Some applicants would have interviewed as early as last summer when visiting the campus.
But given that this is recommended, not required, I’m sure a certain number of applicants don’t interview if it is too difficult to arrange.
