Missing Class

Okay so my spring semester starts the 17th of this month. To make a long story short I have a lot of health problems which ultimately means a lot of doctor appointment. Last semester I ended up lucky and scheduled most of my app. after all of classes but due to a recent bout of the flu/a few emergency room visits I couldn’t be picky with my times. Currently I have one on the 24th [only 1 class that day] and the 30th [2 classes]

I don’t want to miss those classes so early in the semester but i have no choice. I was just wondering how i should handle it. Last semester I had to take a week off because of a surgery and took a letter from my doctor explaining everything. But should i do more? [Ex. Meet with them and be honest about my health problems but don’t overshare? Just let them know that i might miss a few classes because of it but I’ll make sure my work is done] or should i just leave it alone?

Luckily my profs. last semester were really understanding and nice about the situation but im afraid my new ones won’t. [For example I heard that my French prof is pretty cold when it comes to things like that]

This might be in the wrong thread I just want to know any advice that could help me? Thanks in advance

You should always let them know what’s going on. If they decide not to take it into consideration there’s nothing you can do, but it’s better to let them know ahead of time then to have a crisis later when you’re overwhelmed or really sick.
