I’m a 9th grader, and currently I take Algebra 2. However, when I asked my counselor about my unweighted GPA, it was a 4.0, even though I got Bs for both semesters in Algebra 1 and Geometry. It turns out that they forgot to put it on my transcript, but they remembered to put on Physical Science, which I got an A in. So should I notify them about it? I honestly want to keep the 4.0 since it aids my chances for colleges…can I just leave it?
If you took algebra 1 and Geometry in junior high it wouldn’t be on the transcript. The physical science if taken at the high school would.
It might be on the transcript or it might not; it depends on school policy. For the same reason, the grade might be calculated in the GPA, or it might not.
No it won’t. A less than perfect GPA will not prevent one from getting into a college.
@Nicki20 I asked the counselor to print my transcript, and when she showed me, my current classes for 9th and only ONE class (honors physical science of course) from middle school
@skieurope I think that the coordinator from my MS forgot the other classes…is it fine if I don’t mention it to them to boost my class ranking?
You know it, so the ethical thing for you to do is mention it. Perhaps it is not an error and there is a reason they did not. As I said earlier, even if a HS class is taken in MS, not all schools calculate it it in your GPA. Regardless, the “boost” in your class ranking over for years would be akin to a pimple on an elephant’s butt.
My daughter had Algebra 1 and Geometry in 6th and 7th grade.it isn’t on transcript . 8th grade algebra2 taken at high school was. A couple years earlier the junior high had a teacher qualified to teach high school ałgebra 2 and it counted on kids transcript.
other senior friends of mine had the same alg 1 and geo teacher as me, and they have it on their transcript so i’m kinda confused. they told me that i lucked out and they forgot to send it to the high school for it to be on my transcript… @Nicki20
At least for my school, any high school credit courses are counted on the transcript. I have Honors Algebra I from 8th grade on my transcript.
The policy may have changed in the three years since they took those classes
