Sorry, I am sure this topic has been asked over and over, but there are so many posts to sift through and no two situations exactly match. My situation is that I am going to be applying soon to a UC from a CCC as a mechanical engineering major. I am planning on applying to UCI and UCLA, but I am missing one physics course as a pre req due to the class filling up before I was able to enroll. Other than that, I will have finished all my IGETC on time and I have a 4.0 GPA as of now.
Do I have a chance at being accepted to either of these schools despite missing on pre req? Or should I just plan on taking another year at CCC ( I really dont have many other classes to take other than a couple solidworks classes that dont transfer).
Well, the fact that you have everything else and a 4.0 is in your favor. Put it in as a summer course and mention in additional comments that you couldn’t get in, added it for summer, but are still going to try and wedge in.
I would then email the prof and tell him your situation, then show up the first few classes. You’d be surprised how that helps open doors.
You’ve already enrolled for winter or spring? You have until then to complete. It’s only October.
Okay will do! Unfortunately, the waitlist for that class is also full but I will try and attend the first class anyway. For my CCC the enrollment for spring is in the process of happening and there is no winter enrollment.
Go to assist. Don’t put anything in. At bottom click explore majors. Pick your UC and go from there. It will spit out a list of nearby community colleges and you can check major prep to see what they have.
