Missing Pre Reqs... Help :(

Hi guys,

I've applied for Fall 2013 as a Philosophy major to a few UCs. The one I'm most concerned about, though, is UCLA.

I have only 1/4 Pre-Reqs done, though I've taken 3 philosophy classes. Assist.org says there are classes that are articulated for 3/4 of the Pre Reqs, but they weren't offered! Only 2 were offered last semester, one of which id planned to take it this semester, but it was not longer offered. So that left me with 1/4.

The rest of my application is above par, I think. I have a 3.82 GPA and (I've been told) great essays and extracurriculars. From what I've been reading, though, all of this might as well be useless to UCLA if I've only got 1 pre req done (and the most unimportant one, too).

Im a nervous wreck. What should I do next? I plan on calling UCLA Admissions this Monday.

What are my chances? Is there any hope at all for me? Should I just give up?

Thanks in advance. :'(

any insight would be helpful!

UCLA philosophy is really easy to get into and your GPA is above average for admits. Are the pre-reqs simply not offered or haven’t been offered in a while? If everything else is done like your IGETC and you have met all other requirements you should be fine. There is nothing you can do if your school doesn’t provide the classes you need, it is out of your control.

I know a few people who were missing 2 or 3 classes and still were accepted without incident. You will just have to take them when you get here.
