i misspelled reasoning due to typo (came out as "reasing") but just when describing i got a merit award on my SAT "reasoning" test.
and i forgot the "s" off my last name on the signature at end of the Common app
also, i forgot to mention things like Student Gov Assoc and Student Advisor (leadership role) in my activities section--i did attach a resume tho! do you think that's gonna be a problem?
omg ugh this feels so good letting it out. Great idea!

I think I had one grammatical error in my common app essay. I can't remember what is was and I fixed it for my RD schools. Also, I was pretty sure that I would be taking Calc I and Intro to American Politics next semester in the dual enrollment program. Turns out the classes weren't at a time I could take them so I'm taking Calc I for life sciences (pretty much the same as calc I) and American Lit. I will contact them, but I hope it's not that big of a deal... it's not like my courseload is easier because of it.

I probably made some other stupid mistakes that I didn't even notice.

I didn't finish writing in where my mom works so its says "blah blah" instead of "blah blah school district". I also decided to send in both of my ACT scores and it turns out I scored lower the second time. :( They'll hopefully look at the second one. What's done is done :)

My son overstated his Critical Reading score on the Common Application! I can't believe the three of us missed this one. What is the best way to communicate to the admissions office that this mistake was made? Thanks in advance.

Looking through the applications I submitted back in 2007, there were quite a few grammatical/expression mistakes and at least one instance of not following the instructions (never capitalized my last name when explicitly told to do so). Still did pretty okay for decision day though.

i put Female as sex instead of Male.

^hahaha that sucks.

I still think the clam fart was the most epic of all mistakes.

I had a typo on my list of ECs (but emailed to correct it and they put a note in my file). Hopefully it won't have a big impact...

I forgot to list the only award I've ever gotten that I was legitimately really, really proud of.
: (
I'm sure there are plenty of grammatical errors too, but I've already submitted and I'm scared to go back and check!

I had "resourceful" where it should have said "resourcefulness" on my Bard application. Got accepted anyway!

i realized a couple months after submitting my UC app that one sentence in my personal statement was written in the wrong tense (it should have been past perfect but it was just past) and it changed the meaning of that sentence. too bad i lost my essays after i reformatted my computer. i wonder if there's anyway i can obtain them from the UCOP website though.

EDTI: actually, i went to check my old emails that i got from the UC's last year and found that there was a link to where i could log in and review the application i submitted.

wow, for prompt #1, there are so many grammar/tense errors lmao!! and it doesn't even sound that well written. (i didn't have anyone proveread it, but i had someone proveread my 2nd prompt tho). now i wonder how i even got that invitation from UCSB to go to the chanccellor's reception in febuary lol.

I overlooked a few extracurriculars (nothing eye-popping), but a letter sent to the admissions offices should clear that up. On that note: if you feel you made a grievous mistake on your application, just e-mail the admissions office or send a letter. They'll appreciate the effort you took to make the app as honest as possible.

Yeah, I495, that's what I figure. I actually wanted them to decrease the number of hours for 1 EC (I made a mistake in typing it in and somehow didn't catch it when proofreading), so I'm hoping it will reflect honesty more than anything...

In my colorado "is there anything else that you would like us to know abour you?"...

i sent in a copy with about 5 spelling errors...at leats i think i did

but its not like i'm dying to get in there

I faxed my transcript to USC with the recommendation letter cover sheet.

reading this thread makes me laugh

I typed in 2400 for SAT score and 36 for ACT score, which in fact I didn't get either of them :D

^y'know, you can get in deep trouble for that, if you actually did it. Colleges get touchy about fake perfect scores... :p

I said I took my AP Gov test in 07, but I took it in in 08:( I still need to tell 2 schools about that...

I left out some extracurriculars because there wasn't enough space and then forgot to send my resume in (it said to send the others in the mail if you ran out of space). Also a few typos/spelling/grammar errors on one essay because I accidentally clicked "submit" before someone proofread it. Hopefully nothing major, though. Also may have overestimated time spent on certain ECs at one school, didn't notice until looking over it now, when it's probably way too late to change (a Nov. 1 app). Oops.
