oh man, i feel sorry for you. good laugh...

i have a million typos.
maybe they won't notice?
not. :(

Found answer to Post #24: (What is the best way to communicate to admissions that a mistake was made?)

Since the mistake was on the common app, we contacted all 6 schools by phone and they each told us to send an email to the admissions office. 4 of the schools sent emails back confirming receipt of our email.

My typo is kinda small. I said the instead of to in my essay and I wrote in passive voice a lot.

i thought I submitted my app to stanford sans typos, but i went back and found out that i somehow deleted a word. now instead of "source of pride" it says "source pride" im freakin out. :(

LOL what's the sn of that clam fart girl?

i put if instead of "of... minor mistake but still freaks me out

college didn't receive transcript from my school so i faxed my report card and just noticed that i had a post-it note with fax number over most of my grades

Instead of June of 2010 as my graduation date, somehow i managed to put june of 1992, meaning that i graduated four months before i was born lol

Iāve emailed admissions and plan on calling them to correct the mistake and ask a few questions

My birth year is 1989 and I put 1918. One school emailed me and said if i was sureā¦

Hi! This is kind of late, but I applied to a great school EA, and I realized that I completely misrepresented an activity that I did. Itās a pretty major mistake. What should I do? Should I call Admissions/write them a letter? I also found a mistake in my additional information attachment which was pretty important too Does anyone know what to do / what did you guys do?
THANKS SO MUCH! Iām so freaked out!

I put my cell phone number for both home phone and cell phone on the common app. Though in my defense I donāt even have a home phone.
I put I did soccer all years of high school, but I stopped senior year because of back problems.
I made a few grammatical and stylistic errors in my essays.
I left off the fact that Iām the school winner of the Wendyās High School Heisman award.

In the Georgetown section of āList any special skills you haveā, I copied and pasted all of my awards instead. Hopefully, thatās somewhat releveant?

i wrote the wrong sat scores

my real ones are
800 writing
750 cr
760 math

i wrote
800 writing
760 cr
750 math

pretty minor mistake but i sent a fax correcting it when i was done :)

I somehow put my school email as my name, they are going to think Iām an idiot lol
the most critical and simple thing!

In one of my questbridge essays, I used the word homogeny, which according to the dictionary means " Similarity of structure between organs or parts, possibly of dissimilar function, that are related by common descent.", instead of the word āhomogeneityā, which is used when talking about similarity in people, things institutions etc. Iām still beating myself up for that oneā¦

I left out the word āofā from a sentence in my essay. It reads āThe owners Eagle After School Martial Arts Program decidedā¦ā Luckily I only sent it to two schools before I noticed it, and Iām pretty sure that is the only mistake on my app (I proofread it so many times). Iām still pretty nervous about it thoughā¦ can anyone tell me that its not that big of a deal so I feel better?

@retep, I laughed out loud like a crazy high hyena after reading that:) 1918 ha. wish you the best of luck, I think colleges will appreciate your sense of humor :)

Ahaha I did that too, where you have to date the rec waiver form, I put my birthday instead of the current day. I donāt want to email them because I figure theyāll understand and if I mail them, itāll just bring attention to itā¦ cause they probably wonāt think I signed the rec waiver when I was a babyā¦

Worst Ever -> Talked about how I lobbied for a bill. Added a sentence that it was passed through Congress. Just fact checked and it was passed through the Senate foreign relations committee. Not through Congress.

Oh god I hope they donāt fact check that one.
Iām still debating on whether I should email them or notā¦
