MIT Chances (Any?)

<p>OK just to preface this, I want to say that I'm not trying to brag <em>at all</em>. I really am very nervous about getting in, and it is by far my top choice. I love Caltech and all, but it cuts off English and Foreign languages too much (plus you can cross-register at Harvard if you want to, not that you really need to).</p>

<p>Anyway, here are my stats:
SAT:
770 Math (Love math, don't know why in the world it isn't an 800 except careless mistakes, as I missed one easy Algebra one and a hard one in something else)
800 Reading (How, I have no idea; my former best was 680 and I had a 660 in June)
790 Writing (I always love the multiple choice and never get more than 2 wrong, but they hate my essays and gave me an 8 on this one)</p>

<p>SAT Subjects:
750 Lit (<em>Much</em> easier than I thought)
770 Physics (Studied my butt off)
800 Math 2 (As I said, I love math!)</p>

<p>AP:
Human Geography: 4
World Hist.: 5
US Hist.: 4
Eng. Lang.: 3 (Don't even ask. I thought I aced it and my essays were superb. I had the highest grade on the mock we did after school in my class, and there was a true English addict in the class. I also had like the 3rd highest grade of all 120 or so students my teacher had)
Ger. Lang.: 3 (I had the second highest grade, and the highest was a 5 from a native speaker. The class was, needless to say, not very informative. I love languages.)
Physics C: Mechanics: 4 (I learned this in the last two months of school on my own with only the assistance of the ocw.mit.edu lectures. I really love physics and will definitely major in it.)
Calculus AB: 5 (You can't take BC without AB at my school for some inane reason, so I've been learning the BC stuff while everyone else is reviewing AB for the first semester this year.)</p>

<p>I'm taking:
AP French Lang.
AP Stats
AP Gov.
AP Macroecon.
AP Calc BC
AP Eng. Lit.
AP Art Hist.
AP Env.</p>

<p>And I'm learning AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism on my own because it is sooo interesting. I'm going to take that exam at the end of the year, too.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars (in the order I put them on my MIT application that I haven't yet submitted):
Model U.N. - Chief Ambassador (head of my country delegation)
Social Studies Honor Society - President
Science Honor Society
Math Club
German Honor Society</p>

<p>and I'm also in:
German Club
French Honor Society
French Club
National Honor Society</p>

<p>Summer Activities:
Science Center Volunteering
Global Youth Leadership Conference
Architecture firm employee</p>

<p>Awards/Honors:
National Merit Semi-Finalist
AP Scholar with Distinction
National Hispanic Scholar
Honorable Mention for my Model U.N. delegation</p>

<p>GPA:
Unweighted: 3.857
Weighted: 4.95</p>

<p>And that's it. So anyone who is applying, knows someone who got in, or who got in (and if you did, you are awesome), could you please tell me what you think my chances are?</p>

<p>Edit:
I am 7 (weighted) in a class of about 650 and my ethnicity is Mexican.</p>

<p>I think you have a pretty good chance, especially since you are a Mexican (no offense or anything).</p>

<p>@username101</p>

<p>Haha none taken, I'm proud of it, but I'm only half (on my mom's side).
Just to mention it, I'm also applying to Caltech and UChicago early action and Stanford, Harvard, and Princeton regular.</p>

<p>Edit: I don't know why, but my post showed up before yours.</p>

<p>By the way guys, this is my first thread, so it'd be nice if more people would help me out! I love the idea of this community though.</p>

<p>I think you have a great chance. Your status as a minority will help you, but even without it, you're an outstanding applicant. Buena suerte!</p>

<p>Thanks! Much appreciated!</p>

<p>I guess if I didn't notice that typo, I must have just reduced my chances lol!</p>

<p>you have a great chance!!! urm and great test scores and ranking!!!!!!! good luck!!!!!!!!!!</p>

<p>You're Mexican and have good enough stats to get in if you were Asian, you are definitely in.</p>
