MIT Class of 2022 applicants

@h0kulani as long as you talk about how it’s affected you, I think it’s ok. The question is “How has that world shaped your dreams and aspirations?” That’s quite open-ended, as dreams could mean that you decided you want to make a change in the world or that you realized that friends are more important than success in a career. Doesn’t have to be about what you want to study specifically, but just try and mention how it’s changed what you want to do or who you want to be in the future.

MIT EA decisions Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 6:28 eastern time

@brazos21 Thank you so much!!! Yikes, we’re only 8 days away :open_mouth:

Can we just give a huge shout out to the Admissions office? Honestly reading their message has helped calm a lot of my stress. If you guys haven’t read it yet here it is:

“Think about how you answered question 11a on our application—what do you do purely for fun—then try to fill your time with whatever that may be, and decisions will be here before you know it.”

@TheRolf if you think that’s awesome, you should see some of their blogs! They’re so open and help so much to deal with the stress… they seriously care so much and it just makes me want to go there that much more XD

@vik0likes0cs I’ve been reading them since 2016. They are beautifully crafted

@bestACTscore hey applied to oxordt and MIT too, and I got into both ! it worked out, i just tok classes at oxordt monday and wednesday and took MIT class thursday and fratersday

Now official per Chris Peterson on MIT Admissions website…One week folks!

Hey guys so i accidentally applied ED to MIT, Louisiana State University, Harvard, and Oxfordt… do u think this is a problem? I thought ED meant “eventually denied,” and if you clicked the ED button then they couldn’t deny ur application :///

@thebestACTscore Neither MIT nor Harvard has ED. Harvard has SCEA. You are NOT allowed to apply early anywhere else.

@thebestACTscore what? You might get in trouble, because I know Harvard is restrictive EA which means they ask you to not apply to any other schools. You can get your app rescinded. I really hope you are joking for your own sake

@thebestACTscore The only issue is applying to both MIT and Harvard early. The other schools listed are fine.

@thebestACTscore how can you apply early to colleges without knowing what ED/EA/REA/SCEA mean??

@anyexreita I think he might be "meme"ing us

I just got the email at 5:03… did anyone get it earlier? I’m just thinking maybe they emailed accepted and deferred applicants separately.

@IequalSmart I got it at 5:13… isn’t it possible that they just can’t send them all instantaneously though? IDK how that works
