I agree with KirbusPrime in that we get a lot of hot girls on campus like he describes (ego syndrome, etc, whatnot). I know that whenever my dorm hosts parties we get flooded by girls from, erhm, other schools (coughwellesleycough) looking for attention and/or alcohol. Having said that, you shouldn't stereotype them all... many of them are quite nice!

But in general, I'd have to agree, those aren't the kinds of girls I'd like to date. But KirbusPrime's post makes it out to sound like leaving campus is an impossible task. You don't have to wait for the girls to come to you, y'know. ;)

Think about how many girls spend hours in front of the mirror trying to look perfect. It requires effort to meet societies aesthetic standards. MIT people, guys and girls, spend time doing other things, which in the long run are probably more productive.

And hey, MIT girls clean up nicely too!

Even after four years of MIT and almost a year of graduate school, I refuse to leave my apartment without foundation, mascara, and eyeliner. I also still curl my hair every day. So if you're sufficiently vain before coming to MIT, you probably won't change. ;) But KirbusPrime's point is well-taken -- a large number of MIT girls, or science/engineering girls, are either too busy or not frivolous enough to waste time on makeup every day.

Oh yeah, Olo is right, if you come to MIT you can definitely go off campus and have a great time. Like he said, if you can't find what you're looking for in Boston you're probably not looking hard enough. I was just commenting on the on-campus parties.
