The MIT web site says that "Supplemental Material submission deadline has passed " but the semifinalists for the 2007 US Physics Team have just been posted. What to do?

i think you will be ok if MIT doesn't see that....

I'd like to think you are right, but since MIT deferred my son at the EA stage, I'm not as confident as I'd like to be...

try https://decisions.mit.edu/verify.php

8 days, i guess ill take care of the countdown

7..................oh gosh. This is so incredibly close. It just hit me right in the face....wow. Second semester senior year...decisions will be here and that will be it. :( nervous. No matter what I said earlier.

oh man... i remember this time last year! It was so exhilarating waiting for the MIT letter, because that was the first time I would hear back from a "good" college.

Good luck to all!

oooh. my. god.

5 days <but since="" someone="" skipped="" "six="" days"="" i="" just="" put="" it="" as="" the="" title="">... OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG</but>

Omg .

Cripes. frantic worrying

People are trying to get me to attend an Iron Maiden concert on the 17th. Which is naturally doomed to failure, as a) I hate metal anyway, and b) my time would be far better spent refreshing the decision page madly. ;)

Refreshing madly? I'm going to be clicking that mouse so often I'll have PETA after me. (Can't help it, it's an EVS thing :))

Oh dear God. :p Bad pun, much?

Considering my connection speed, the best I can manage is once per 4 seconds, really (er, I have issues with caching).

Much. :p

Thankfully I've got broadband, I wouldn't be able to bear having dial-up at such a time. :D

ahh dial up.... those were sad sad days :-p

i guess thousands of people will be frantically on the decisions site at 12pm, refereshing every second. Here goes my prayer for the MIT servers..

p.s. OMG! 5 days!

Oh no point praying for the servers, we know they're going to crash. (And I've no idea why I've italicized know in that sentence. :))

It's the same for the CC servers, a crash is inevitable...

I personally don't care about the CC server. I'll be too busy phoning people if I get accepted, and being angsty if I don't. ;) CC can wait till the morning (as decisions will be nigh midnight in my timezone).

I thought it'd be around 3 AM? I'm not even thinking about possible acceptance, the probability seems to be too remote. (I think I've caught that pessimism from you)

Nah, EST is GMT -5, and Indian Standard is GMT +5.5. So 12 noon in Cambridge is 2230 here, which is...okay, one and a half hours before midnight, but still late enough in a comparative sense. :D

And I'm currently in my 'wild despair' state, so your pessimism ain't got nothing on me. :p
