okay, so i havent officially received my letter in the mail. but today, a slip of paper was left in my mailbox. because no one was there to sign for my letter. and according to the slip of paper that was left by the post office, it was “a large envelope” sent by “express mail.” and it was from the “MIT MITES program” so i’m guessing that’s it. so i’m going to pick it up tomorrow from the post office.
i’m from mississippi. so that probably helped A LOT.

<p>So far a 4% acceptance rate from this list compiled of people that joined CC prior to MITES acceptance letter :(</p>
<p>Maybe they say to respond before the 13th so that they can accept people that didnt quite make it. Like if they already accepted 80 people and they sent out all the mail, some might not be able to make it to MITES, so they have until the 13th to notify MIT, and after that MIT takes some kids from their waiting list and quickly sends them mail which promptly arrives on the 15th saying that he/she is accepted. I hope I am one of those kids. :p</p>
<p>Thanks! I’m in Texas :)!! For WTP they sent me an email which REALLY scared me… I was like “I’m not getting in I’m not getting in…” and then I looked at the title and it said “Congratulations!” I was super excited! Then yesterday I got an express package from MITES which was a decent size.</p>

<p>Random question: Many MITES alumni go to MIT and top ivys among other schools… does that have anything to do with MITES or would they have gotten in anyways (because they were already so qualified)?</p>

<p>I did not get in, but I was selected for the Fly-In program. I received this through the mail today. It also comes in the express mail letter and it is in a semi-thick envelope within the big express mail envelope. I am a little disappointed but this is still pretty amazing. <p>well futurereject, I figured that it would probably take about 2/3 days to get to California from Texas. And someone got in from Texas a couple of days ago…so yeah.
