i made a copy…so i think that will do!

im sooooo excited. It seems surreal to get accepted though. lol Ive done 3 of my 4 essays and I have almost all the paper work ready. I just hope my january SAT gives me good scores.

anyone else as excited as i am? :)

Yesss, I am so excited! I try really hard not to get my hopes up, but that never works, lol. I need to work on my essays though. And I got my math and guidance counsel recs, and they’re really good! Yay! Six weeks at MIT would be the best summer of my life, hands down.

I’m extremely excited! I’m also trying to keep my hopes to a minimum but just the thought of going is amazing.

Six weeks at MIT would probably be the best six weeks of my life lol

@Quantifier
hahah, yes, i agree.

So I’m completely stuck on the essays. Could someone help me with those? Thanks.

i am soooooooo ready for the summer! i just have to get accepted first =]
@lovinglife: i’m kinda stuck too. how in the world can you talk about things you’re passionate about in just 300 words! think of something that has a meaning or something significant

@ambaturkey11: i completely agree. i don’t have great stats but i’m still going to try. getting accepted would be the best thing ever!
now the essays… lol

@MIT15 “Six weeks at MIT would probably be the best six weeks of my life lol”

I cant wait! i have two essays done. and my third one already written in the process of revision. Im so excited. April 19th we’ll all be here on CC anxiously awaiting the response :)

Once I got started on the essays, they really weren’t that hard. I am soooo ready for summer too. I’m kind of nervous because we get our semester report cards either the first or second week in feburary. I wish I could send it in now! Haha. :)

how did you guys ask your teachers for the recs?

Just walked up to my teachers and told them about the program and how I needed a teacher recommendation and if they were willing to do it.

Do we have to send in all our SAT’s and PSAT or will just one PSAT suffice. Also I noticed that my school’s 2nd semester report card won’t be out until the Feb. 17 so what should I send?

i would
1)contact MITES and tell them it will be coming 2 days after the deadline
2)have your guidance counsler email them
3) send your latest scores
4) see if you can get your grades earlier

@kere: just wondering. are you from atlanta?

Yaay I got it working, finally. Sorry for being such a jerk. The date was looming closer, and I was getting kind of nervous.

And I have a question: do they want you to send all of the paperwork together? Or should each of the recs be separate from the transcript and scores? Or does it even matter?? I want to make sure I do it right.

Man, how much do the recommendations matter, anyway? I think I’ll get decent recs from my math teacher and GC, but my science teacher doesnt really like me
Does that pretty much screw my chances?

@ambaturkey11: yup, i live in atlanta. do you?

Hey I was just wondering what you guys did with that one paper for the teacher recommendation which we signed?

How are your essays coming along, I’m done writing 3. One more and I’m set.

I have one more essay that’s all.

As for the official SAT score report, will the one they send you through the mail be enough?

Sadahila: yes, that should be sufficient; I recently contacted the MITES office about this, and verified that they would accept a photocopy of the mailed report.

How are you guys doing on the 300 word limit? As you guys probably know, the limit puts the essays at about 3/4s of a page, double spaced. This seems far too limited to me.

I know what you mean I’m over the limit on all my essays, but at least we get 4 essays.

Lesss thAN 4 weeks now!
