Well Im an applicant also but I doubt it, or atleast I hope its not needed.lol

Hey all! I’m also from MITES '09 and I must say that it is an amazing experience! I encourage everyone to apply!

To analogous, no, you do not need 240/2400 scores to get in. (I had 205) Besides the admission process is holistic and they will look at your grades, EC, essays, schedule, etc so even a low score will not disqualify you.

No way! Don’t think you need good SAT/PSAT to get into MITES! (I had an 187 btw) Emmanuelcarro speaks wise words, everyone interested should definitely apply. Definitely an experience you don’t want to miss for fear of being rejected.

Also, kevmus and nicoliolioli (hey there!) got it all pretty much well summed up… makes it difficult to comment!

yeah, I had a 204 and got in.

Ughhh PSATs are tomarrow…

Hey so the site says the application is availably november? Any idea how long in November? Can’t wait to start the process!

November 15

Up saw it today on their site? So do you all think there’s going to be a lot of applications this year?

Probably.

Hopefully not.

WTH so the mites website said apps would be available November 15 and now it’s December 1st?! What’s going on?

omg i know!
when i saw that i was sooo mad! and the horrible part about this is we still have to finish the app by feb 1.

Kere, that’s two months; how long do you want?

“Mites bites” this is a direct quote from my mom, haha. I was really mad, though. Aren’t the usual applications released in around October? Hopefully there’s still a program. Ugh, another month…

Does anyone have a clue to what the essays are?

To those who cannot read!: The website says that the app will be available Dec.1. It’s November 15th. You do the math.

@analogous its just that at my school, the faculty and staff are pretty lazy so it takes them forever to give things back to us, so i’d probably be working on getting my additional materials together very close to the deadline. and i hate not having everything together early.

@MollyMIT i was also wondering if they are even going to have the program this year, because they usually have the apps out by the end of october.

HELLO? Do i even exist at this thread?
Did i not just say that the app will be available in Dec.1st?

do jews count as a minority for MITES?

@fresh101 yeah, we all know that apps are supposed to be available by Dec. 1st, BUT I was just wondering why they keep pushing it back. There must be some sort of problem, because they’re ususally released by the end of October. Maybe there’s insufficient funding, hopefully they’re just unorganized.

^ok cool. Thx for clearing my misunderstanding. I came halfway into the discussion and ignorantly i jumped to conclusions.
