MITES 2012 Information and Discussion

I received a 2week extension with GT(thanks for your help everyone! ) but 4 days!? ahhhh WHY??? ): I take the ACT 4 days after …well i guess it is kinda good so everyone has more time to finalize summer plans.

& I’m taking APUSH too… and am going to DIE…I feel like I haven’t learned anything all year…

Should I take the SAT Subject test?

We recommend (but do not require) that you submit official results of at least two SAT Subject Tests, as these additional scores often assist us in our evaluation process. You are welcome to submit any and all SAT Subject Tests you have completed. We do not have a preference for the specific SAT Subject Tests you elect to take. However, if you elect to take a math test, we do prefer to see the Math Level 2 test if you feel that your math background has adequately prepared you for this test.

And I might… If I do, it’ll probably be two of either Math II, Chemistry, or US History, though.

It does say at least 2, so take all 3 if you feel up to it. It saves you some money since the base fee is $22 and $11 for each test (up to 3 tests per date).

…Still can’t believe we find out in FOUR days…

xbdfbgdf

Anyone know what time they release decisions? Otherwise I get the feeling I’ll be up at midnight hitting refresh until it comes out… :P

Lol the website’s going to totally crash when decisions are released…

I get a terrible feeling that half of us will find out, the site will crash, and the other half will have to wait some unbearable amount of time to see their decision.

Please let that not happen.

I know I’ll be checking on the app page every hour from now till April 10th. I can’t help it

April 10th is the day we shall see if MIT lives up to its computer science fame… Muahahha  Lol jk, not really much they can do if everyone checks at the same time.

I doubt it’ll crash because they release the time for MIT admissions every year so everyone knows when go check and the applicant pool for undergrad is like 10 times larger

@nater17 Yeah, except on the day the apps were due, the site crashed. -.- Lol

@coffeeandtea I think your prediction is going to be right on…

Oh yeah, did it crash on some of you guys?

It didn’t ‘crash’ on me, but I couldn’t log on…

Don’t want to sound like I am doubting anyone but 1 person saying someone told them April 10th on the phone doesn’t make it official. I’ve seen mistaken acceptance dates many, many times on this site. I hope it is 4/10 or sooner but be cautious managing your expectations.

I kind of regret turning my app in a little early. It wasn’t until a week after I turned it in that I found out that the deadline had been extended…

Oh well. I think my app’s the best it’s gonna get for how much time I had to do it. :)

And if the website crashes… I’ll have a panic attack.

I’ll have to violate my school’s phone policy to check my results the moment they come out :P

Bappy1 makes a good point… Maybe we shouldn’t expect anything on the 10th. ^.^

And I’m on spring break, so if it comes out now, it’d kind of be perfect…

I’m on spring break all through next week so I’ll have plenty of time to kill and wait and wait and wait. I hate waiting

lol, I’ve been violating my school’s technology policy.

And wouldn’t you rather have 10/10 instead of 4/10? I mean, a 40% is failing :P

my advice to everyone in here is to chill out! MITES is cool but its not going to make or break you.

if you’re on spring break right now (like me), then enjoy your time, get off the computer and go enjoy the weather with friends.
