Thank you
@diegogarciadb05 A couple of years ago, S applied to SSP and MITES. SSP acceptance was 3-4 weeks before MITES and S didn’t think he got into MITES. I sent the 1st payment in to SSP and the next day he got the MITES acceptance. Of course, the payment for SSP was non-refundable, so it became a tax donation. He loved MITES and loves MIT.
He is in a similar situation right now waiting to hear if he gets to be a MITES TA this year.
@diegogarciadb05 In 2014, MITES sent acceptances out on 4/25/14. If you don’t hear by then, accept the other one. You can always withdraw if you get into MITES.
These need to come out already…
I want them to come out and see the results, but at the same time, I fear the results. :):)
Hi guys. didn’t apply to MITES, but I applied to MIT MathROOTS. So I am just as eager as you all.
I wonder why that one is not on their summer programs page? I’d never heard of it.
@nw2this
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. Here is the link: http://mathroots.mit.edu/
Someone in the higher ups in the OEOP ladder told students that you should hear back from the MITES/E2/MOSTEC people by the end of next week.
Wait, so it will be next week or by the last week of April?
I was assuming it to be by Friday April 15th.
The MITES application login page says to expect decisions by mid-April.
@DoubleCupLove Huh. Interesting. Where’d you hear that? I assumed decisions would come out near the last week of April.
@thisisntmartha If you send mites an email, you get an automatic response that includes “Admissions decisions will be released in Mid-April”. Also, the fluidreview applications went blank now? So soon, everyone. Soon.
What was the fluidreview?
@portugueselover Fluidreview’s blank for me too. I didn’t think I could get any more on edge than I already was, but I suppose that’s just what happens towards the end of the decisions wait, haha. Get hype, I guess?
@nw2this the thing you submitted your application on
I feel like it has to be soon… I just checked the thread from last year and they got their results two days after Fluidreview went blank.
Do they email us or are we supposed to check on our own?
Update: I will not be going to MITES so I pulled out my application.
Good luck to everyone else!!
@Ahmeda14960 what happened? Were you accepted at another program?
