Mix match: On-line teachers/off-line counselor?

The Comm App specifies not to mix and match. So should we tell teachers who want to submit their evaluations on line that they must instead mail them if that is the chosen method of the gc office? Seems ridiculous!

Studiomom, I'm with you about this. Our guidance office doesn't seem to want the common app used at all for them and D (which means me) has to fill out another application for the transcript and then hand them paper for the counselor stuff. I'm waiting a call back from the guidance counselor and will then talk with the principal if they're insistent cause this is pretty dumb. It will be much simpler for them to do this through the common. D already has a few teachers who have turned them in and now we find out that guidance doesn't want to. Can you see the steam coming out of me?

Same issues with my school only I have a bit of a twist that maybe one of you can help me with. One of the teachers has also opted out of the online rec. forms. but the instructor/teacher pdf forms are not apppearing nor is my "help desk" ticket being answered. Can someone send me these forms????? On this board someone suhhested setting up a fake Common App. and not requesting e-mail, I did this and no teacher/instructor forms appeared. This is drivingme nuts because if the stupid school would just do it online this would have been done!

I was pretty sure the Common App's instruction about this was a reference to the student's application. Meaning, don't fill out the Common App basic online, then mail the school-specific supplement and fee.

Here is an answer from the CA help desk about this issue:

If you are submitting your application online, the schools

I'm sending my app and teacher recs. online and counseler rec. offline

So having one teacher go online, one teacher go offline, and GC go offline doesn't matter?

I finally managed yesterday to talk my school's guidance office into doing this online once they realized they could upload forms and it would be less work for them. They had supposedly gone to "training" early last month but apparently that didn't cover anything new in the common application. Now to make sure we get all the teachers online as well.
