Here are my SAT II scores:
Bio: 710
Math IIc: 660 first time, expecting high 700s or 800 from June examination
Lit: expecting low score (mid/low 600s, maybe high 500s)

So my question is, with this not-so-perfect SAT II resume, for schools where submitting them for admissions is optional, should I, or should I chose not to? I did ACT, so its not like they'll get my scores anyway (no SAT to submit if it's optional). Im applying to mostly top-tier engineering schools btw. I would cancel my Lit score from June since Im expecting it to be bad, but I need the higher math score....

Any advice is appreciated

Depending on which school it is, the ENG schoosl will not care about the lit score, even if it is 250. They want math II and science

The fact that sending SAT II scores is optional sends the message that they don’t really care about them. Do they at least recommend them? If they recommend them, I would send them. But since you’re applying to top-tier engineering schools, you should plan on retaking the math and consider taking chemistry or physics. I probably wouldn’t send these scores if I were you, unless you plan on doing very well if you retake or if they recommend that you send them.

well, as i said, Im pretty certain that the second math IIc score will be farily high. And I wouldnt say my bio score is great, but its not bad either. The thing thats holding me back is the probable low Lit score and 2 math scores on my score report.

I take colleges at their word that they consider applicants’ HIGHEST scores (see Harvard’s viewbook for an example of a statement like that), so I’m advising my children just to self-report everything on the relevant part of the college application form where scores are asked for, and to send in the official SAT score report fearlessly. Let the colleges sort out what the scores mean. Meanwhile, enjoy your time in high school.

Your scores are definitely not bad. Send them. 100% sure on this one. You took the tests; might as well send them to the schools - you didn’t get <500 or even <650 so far, and such scores can only help.

even at top-tier engineering schools?

There are top-tier engineering schools that call SAT IIs optional?

Also, at MIT, the general rule is 7__ is no different from 800. so your bio is good, and if you can get in the 700s for math II, awesome. Don’t know about other schools, but it seems like generally, if you’re in the 700s, you’re good, and 650+ is still very good. But if teh SAT II is optional, yes, I would expect those scores not to hurt.
