I know you can mix scores from the new sat sittings and I've read on other posts on CC that you can mix scores from the Old & New Sat but can you use the Sat 2 writing as your New Sat Writing?

(BTW I tried using the search function prior to posting this -.-)

It may depend on the college. I know that Harvard will not consider the new SAT writing score as one of the 3 SAT IIs that it requires. It does not require, however, that one of the SAT II scores be writing.

It requires one of the sat 2's to be writing if you're including your Old Sat only. My question is can you use your Sat 2 writing score (can't take Sat 2 writing anymore) instead of your new Sat writing score.

Don't excoriate me if I'm wrong, but colleges will use your new SAT's writing component in place of the SAT II writing. This is the only logical deduction if collegeboard stopped issuing the writing sat II separately

They stopped issuing it because there was no need for it anymore. But just cuase there is no need for it anymore, doesn't mean it's not as useful.

Actually, the new SAT writing scores are not comparable to SAT II Writing. The new scores are on a much harsher curve and average scores/percentiles for the new test are unknown, so even Collegeboard states they cannot be replaced. Therefore, I think colleges will consider each test as different (because they are). Since its a transition year between the two, colleges will be flexible and won't put as much of a weight on writing scores. To answer your question, you can't use your SAT 2 Writing score in place of your new SAT writing score since they are not comparable.
