I'm applying as a Journalism major.
My top choice would be Mizzou, so I'm extremely curious about that haha - basically, if I get in their Im going. Regardless of wherever else I get in (and those 5 aren't the only ones). I know for a fact that, though the school's regular admissions standards are somewhat low, gaining admission to their Journalism program is pretty competitive because their j school is just SO good. Anyway, what are my chances:

3.5 GPA
2140 on SAT (CR: 730, W: 720, M: 690)
31 on ACT
4 AP English Language & Comp
4 AP Art History
Was a staff member for my school's newspaper
Now one of the head editors for my school's magazine
Been in Model United Nations (think Speech & Debate mixed with foreign affairs) for 3 years, and have won several awards
I do creative writing and have had work published in nationwide student publications.
Do a bunch of volunteer work at the local animal shelter and soup kitchen

Also, my school has a REALLY great reputation in California and is known for being extremely rigorous (ranked #117 in nation by Newsweek) - but I'm not so sure if this reputation extends past the UCs and other California schools enough to "cut me some slack" for my GPA/boost my chances a tiny bit..? Probably not lol.

The reason for the large "gap" between my test scores and GPA+extracurriculars is that, to be completely honest, I didn't completely push myself the past couple years... I know I could have done way better and am kicking myself now.
